This Cookie Notice explains how Nvestiv Capital Corporation ("Nvestiv", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on:
- our website at nvestiv.com, including the newsroom and journals (the "Website");
- the Nvestiv app at app.nvestiv.com, including data rooms (the "App"); and
- shared documents at share.nvestiv.com ("Shared Documents"),
and on any other website that we own or control and that posts or links to this Cookie Notice (together, the "Sites").
This Cookie Notice forms part of our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information, and the rights you have.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that a website places on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. Cookies serve different purposes. For example, they keep you signed in, help us understand how a site is used, and help us find and fix errors.
Our Sites use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your device until they expire or you delete them).
We use two broad categories of cookies:
- First-party cookies, which we serve directly to your device and which we use to recognise your device when it returns to our Sites.
- Third-party cookies, which our service providers serve on our Sites. Our service providers use them for site analytics and session recording.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to show you ads.
2. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | What it does |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | These cookies are necessary for the technical operation of the Sites. For example, they keep you signed in to the App and protect your session. You cannot turn them off in our Sites, because the Sites will not work without them. |
| Analytics | These cookies and similar technologies help us understand how the Sites are used and how they perform. They tell us which pages and screens you view, what you click, how far you scroll, how long you stay, your device and browser, your IP address and your approximate location. Some of them record your session so that we can replay it. We use this information to run, secure and fix the Sites, to understand how features are used, and to improve the Services. |
3. Cookies and similar technologies on our Sites
3.1 Website (nvestiv.com)

_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA (Google) | Tells people from automated programs (bots) when a Website form is used | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
Microsoft Clarity records sessions and builds heatmaps of how visitors use the Website.
3.2 App (app.nvestiv.com), data rooms and Shared Documents (share.nvestiv.com)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_app_key | Nvestiv | Signed session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects your session | Strictly necessary | 90 days |
ph_* cookie | PostHog | Product analytics and session replay: recognises your browser and links the events and recordings of a session | Analytics | 1 year |
ph_* local storage | PostHog | Stores the same analytics and session-replay state in your browser storage | Analytics | Until you clear it |
| Session storage | PostHog (data-room session recording) | Keeps the state of a data-room session recording while the tab is open. Data-room recording uses session storage only, not cookies | Analytics | Until you close the tab |
| Sentry browser SDK | Sentry | Captures errors and the technical context needed to fix them (browser, page, error details) | Strictly necessary | Sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser |
4. Other technologies
4.1 Browser web storage
We use browser web storage (local storage and session storage) for similar purposes as cookies. Browser web storage can hold more data than cookies. Your browser lets you clear your browser web storage.
4.2 Session recording
We use products from PostHog (in the App, in data rooms and on Shared Documents) and Microsoft Clarity (on the Website) that record how you use the Sites, so that we can watch replays of those sessions. The replays include your clicks, mouse movements, scrolling and the pages and screens you view. In the App, recordings hide the text you type. These replays help us find usability problems, fix errors and improve the Services.
PostHog keeps recordings for up to 30 days.
4.3 Data rooms and Shared Documents
When you open a data room or a document that someone shares with you through Nvestiv, we record your session. The recording includes the pages you view, how long you view them, your IP address, your device, your approximate location and the document pages that are shown. We share this activity with the person or company that sent you the material. Copies of recordings linked to a data room are kept for up to 12 months. We show you a notice before recording starts.
5. Your choices
You have these options to control what cookies and similar technologies collect about you:
- Cookie banner. When you first visit the Website, our cookie banner lets you accept or refuse analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the Website footer. Strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent. For visitors from the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept.
- The App. When you sign in to the App, it starts PostHog product analytics and session replay right away, wherever you are. It does not ask for consent first, and there is no setting to turn it off. Replays hide all text, form inputs, images and embedded documents, and capture no network data. Investor data-room pages record replays into a separate project, and the raise owner can turn that replay off for each raise. To ask us to stop analytics on your account, email support@nvestiv.ai.
- Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies, and clear browser web storage. Follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you cannot sign in to the App, and parts of the Sites may not work.
- Google Analytics opt-out. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Clarity. To learn how Microsoft uses Clarity data and the choices it gives you, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
- Other providers. You can read how our other providers handle data: PostHog (https://posthog.com/privacy), Sentry (https://sentry.io/privacy/) and Plausible (https://plausible.io/data-policy).
You need to set these choices on each device and browser that you use.
6. Where the law gives you more rights
- Canada. We use cookies in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
- EEA and UK. Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive or the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations apply, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and session recording, and on our legitimate interests (or the need to provide the Services you ask for) for strictly necessary cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie banner. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.
Our Privacy Policy explains your other rights, including how to ask for access to or deletion of your personal information at support@nvestiv.ai.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Notice when the cookies we use change. A change takes effect when we post it, and the "Last Updated" date shows the current version.
